Nicola McLean’s Wedding Jewels

July 21, 2009

London Jewellery Designer commissioned to produce Nicola McLean’s wedding day jewels!

Nicola McLean married Peterborough footballer Tommy Williams on Saturday 13th June 2009 at a fairytale style wedding, and our client Carrie Yeo London was selected by Nicola McLean to custom design and produce her wedding day jewellery as well as her bridesmaids jewellery.

Nicola had a bespoke design consultation with Carrie Yeo at their London studio back in April to discuss her wedding day jewellery and what she look she wanted. “Nicola and Tommy’s wedding colour theme was bright orange with tones of amber and mocha so Nicola wanted gold jewellery with crystals that fitted in with the overall colour scheme. We also took into account her wedding dress that had subtle tones of gold, cappuccino and ivory when deciding on her wedding jewellery. Nicola’s ornate dress was by My Lady and because of the level of detail on the dress we worked on a tiara that would compliment this style without overpowering it. We used crystals from Swarovski Elements as many dress designers use these so we were able to match the colours of the dress exactly for a co-ordinated look” commented Carrie Yeo.

Carrie Yeo London made the Astor Flower Tiara in gold and used Colorado Topaz coloured crystals from their colour chart and larger diamantes on the band. Carrie Yeo London made earrings for Nicola to match the tiara. Because of the detailed embellishment on the neckline of the dress Nicola wore the Astor Flower Bracelet instead of a necklace to complete her wedding day look.

Nicola loves strong colours and although her bridesmaids wore ivory Nicola chose Topaz coloured crystal for their jewellery to create a unique look. Each bridesmaid wore a customised Astor Flower Headband, earrings and necklace. Each girl also wore a Liberty Bracelet in Topaz coloured crystal. Nicola’s youngest bridesmaid wore a cluster of our Delphinium Hair Flowers which were mounted onto an ivory satin Alice band, and a smaller version of our Deco Droplet Necklace in gold with Topaz.

Suzanne Shaw’s Fairytale Wedding to Jason King

June 24, 2009

Dancing on Ice star Suzanne Shaw has tied the knot with her DJ partner Jason King. The pair chose the Captain’s Club Hotel in Bournemouth as their wedding venue over the weekend, inviting close friends and family.

Catwalk Creations Ltd met with Suzanne and Jason a little over 4 months ago to help them with their final wedding preparations. Seeing as Catwalk Creations Ltd is a PR Agency dedicated to representing brands in the Wedding sector, we were able to offer the lovely couple a selection of bridal products and services to choose from.

At the time of coming to us, Suzanne and Jason still needed to secure the right florist to create their romantic vision. ‘Our theme is black, white and red and we want something quite old school and romantic’ stated Suzanne. Catwalk Creations Ltd represents London’s leading florist Laura Kuy, who the couple selected to be their official wedding florist. Laura Kuy supplied Suzanne’s bouquet, the bridesmaid’s bouquet, the buttonholes, venue flowers, centerpieces and aisle flowers. The final result was quite breathtaking. Check out this week’s OK! Magazine for stunning photos.

When it came to selecting the perfect jewellery for Suzanne’s 7 bridesmaids, the natural choices for Suzanne were our two clients, Girls Love Pearls and Carrie Yeo. Suzanne wanted something delicate, feminine and sparkly for her bridesmaids. The bridesmaids were to be dressed in floor length black satin halter neck dresses and in keeping with the colour scheme, Suzanne opted for a delicate Deco Droplet Necklace with a clear crystal, and a Sparkly Bridal Cuff to complete the look. The bridesmaids looked stunning, check out this week’s OK! Magazine to see for yourself!

Moving on to think of their wedding guests, Suzanne and Jason wanted to give their guests a wedding favour that would double up as a keepsake gift. So for the female attendants, the couple chose a Crystal Heart Wine Stopper and a Crystal Heart Key ring and for the male attendants, the couple chooses a Crystal Dice Wine Stopper and a Crystal Dice Key ring. Our client A Wedding Less Ordinary were delighted to supply these favours to the couple for their big day. Still thinking of their wedding guests, A Wedding Less Ordinary also supplied bespoke champagne flavoured rock sweets in red and white which read, ‘Suz & Jay 4 Eva’ and after-dinner mints supplied in a black and red rose tin personalised with the date of the wedding.

Our next client to be selected by Suzanne and Jason was Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium to make custom-made cookies for the guests to feast on at midnight. The cookies were gingerbread bride and groom figures that had been decorated to replicate the newlyweds!

Not forgetting some wedding day and honeymoon essentials, Suzanne could not resist the range of Diamon’T items we showed to her. These items were from Diamon’Ts brand NEW range ‘Luv Diamon’T’. Suzanne selected a White ‘Bride’ Cotton robe to wear the morning of her wedding as she was having her hair and make-up done. Her bridesmaids each wore a ‘Sexy Bridesmaid’ White Vest Top as the girl’s were in Suzanne’s getting ready. Waiting on Suzanne’s and Jason’s bed the night of their wedding was a personalised keep-sake cushion which read ‘Suzanne & Jason 14.06.09 also supplied by Diamon’T. For Suzanne’s honeymoon suitcase, Diamon’T supplied the new bride with a ‘Just Married’ bikini and kaftan, complete with ‘Just Married’ Flip Flops, so Suzanne can show off her new status is complete style!

Speidi’s Hollywood Fairytale Wedding

June 10, 2009

We absolutely adore Heidi Pratt’s wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier and agree with her comment on Twitter that she felt amazing like a ‘swan princess’. It was not just the dress that was to die for but also the diamond jewellery she was dripping in, which was reported to be worth just under 1 million dollars!

Heidi’s bridesmaids as well looked gorgeous in silk yellow dresses with a single shoulder strap, very on-trend! Do we think though the bridesmaids could have done with a little bling to add the perfect finishing touch to their look? Style Expert, Ruth Morton of Girls Love Pearls comments, ‘This style of dress would not have suited a necklace and earrings would have got lost in the case of Stephanie Pratt as she had worn her hair down. In my opinion a sparkly cuff would have just added an understand sparkle to their outfits, and would have also made a lovely keep-sake item for the bridesmaids from Heidi as a thank you. In addition because Heidi is well jewelled up and her bridesmaids don’t have any bling it would have balanced out the overall look.

We have seen a trend towards bracelets for bridesmaids this season – both pearl and sparkly as they do not interfere with the style of the dress, but add that finishing touch which is wearable time and again.

Girls Love Pearls offer the perfect sparkly cuff bracelet for brides/bridesmaids, and come in a selection of different colour crystals to match this season’s colour trends. With this cuff costing only 22.46GBP you can look like a Hollywood A-Lister without breaking the bank!
