Celebrity Wedding Style…..Sophie Winkleman

September 28, 2009

Congratulations to Freddy Windsor and Sophie Winkleman who recently got married at Hampton Court Palace in a lavish ceremony. There were 400 guests present including Lady Helen Taylor, rock star Bryan Adams and Princess Eugenie to name a few.

As Sophie walked down the aisle to become the newest member of the Royal Family she looked picture perfect in a full-skirted ivory gown made of 8-ft of silk duchesse satin, hand-embellished with sequins, beads and crystal which had been created for her by one of her mother-in-law’s favourite designers, Anna Bystrova from Roza Couture. The dress featured a delicate sweetheart neckline and a three-meter train.

The bride left her hair loose and flowing as a simple diamond tiara and full-length veil worked beautifully with the dress. Sophie opted for a delicate pair of pearl/diamond drop earrings which balanced the entire look and was the perfect finishing touch. Girls Love Pearls have picked up on the earrings worn by Sophie as they have a few pairs of earrings that are very similar to those worn by the bride.

Check these out…

These earrings are available to purchase from www.girls-love-pearls.co.uk and are from the ‘Chic’ range.
Priced at only 12.95 GPB per pair you too can add a touch of ‘Royal Class’ to your wedding day look.

Corrs for celebration!

September 3, 2009

Congratulations to Andrea Corr and Brett Desmond who got married on Friday 21st August in a major celebrity wedding attended by 400 guest’s hilltop Saint Joseph’s Church in County Clare on the west coast of Ireland. Billed as Irish society’s wedding of the decade, it attracted stars from the world of music and sport. The Corrs front woman, Andrea looked stunning as she arrived at the picturesque church wearing a white strapless Vera Wang dress and veil.

For brides who are considering a similar style dress to that of what Andrea wore, here is some style advice from Girls Love Pearls as to what jewellery and accessories would work well with this style wedding dress.

As there is quite a lot going on with the dress with the satin champagne sash at the front and the flower on the bust line of the gown some brides (like Andrea) may want to keep the rest of the look quite minimal and not too fussy. A delicate pair of ivory or champagne coloured pearl stud earrings would be an excellent choice as would a lovely pearl bracelet or necklace in a cream and champagne mix to complete the jewellery look. The mix of cream and champagne pearls would have picked up the champagne in her silk sash.

Items below available from Girls Love Pearls

For brides wanting to wear a necklace with this style dress, our Phoebe Floating necklace (49.95GBP) would be the most appropriate choice.

If a bride did not want to wear a necklace as the flower detail along the bust line may be enough for some brides, then a bride could choose our beautiful pearl bracelet with a lovely heart charm (38.12GBP) for a touch of romance, or our crystal and pearl watch (38.95GBP) which also ensures the bride is not late for the church!

Celebrity Bridal Style – Suzanne Shaw

July 8, 2009

Suzanne Shaw got married to Jason King on the 14th June and lots of brides-to-be have been swamping the wedding forums wondering where Suzanne got her hair vine from. Bridal hair vines are proving more and more popular with brides as an alternative to the traditional tiara.

We are not sure of the exact supplier of Suzanne’s hair vine but our client Carrie Yeo London who were selected by Suzanne to provide the bridesmaid’s necklaces provide a range of ready-to-wear hair vines.

Prices start at 70GBP and can be purchased at www.carrieyeo.com. The vine is a flexible wired design suited to structured styles like buns and beehives. It has two small loops that can be secured to the hair with pins.

Should a bride-to-be want to purchase the hair vine that Suzanne wore on her special day, Carrie Yeo London can produce this using their Bespoke design service which costs from 150GPB for a custom-made hair vine.

Below are a few examples of hair vines available to purchase at Carrie Yeo London.

Cameron Diaz and her collection of bouquets!

June 11, 2009

Cameron Diaz says she may never get married, but it hasn’t stopped her from trying to catch the bridal bouquet at weddings.

“It’s about being in the right position, the right place and the right time,” Diaz says. “I don’t want to get married. I just want to catch the bouquet – I have a collection of bouquets.”

We bet that Cameron Diaz doesn’t have a bouquet like this one amongst her collection! Top London Wedding Jewellery Designer, Carrie Yeo has recently introduced to their retail site the ‘Beach Bouquet’, the ‘Classic Bouquet‘ and the ‘Crown Jewels Bouquet‘. The bouquets are made entirely of Swarovski crystals, Freshwater pearls, Swarovski pearls and delicate glass beads and each bouquet has added finishing touches to fit in with the common wedding themes.

Unlike a traditional flower bouquet, this gorgeous design will last a lifetime as a keepsake of your special day. This wedding bouquet is sure to be an heirloom that you will display in your home alongside your wedding photos for years to come.

We know for sure a Carrie Yeo crystal bouquet would sparkle the brightest amongst Cameron Diaz’s current collection!

First ‘Klass’ Wedding for Mylenne

May 21, 2009

Mylenne Klass is reportedly set to walk down the aisle with fiancé Graham Quinn in the summer of 2010. According to a weekly gossip mag out this week, Mylenne has already sat down with her favorite designer and close friend, Kyri Kyriacou to discuss design ideas for Mylenne’s wedding dress. It’s reported her dress will be very classic, timeless and tasteful with a vintage feel.

Kyri uses clean lines and unfussy styles to create classic gowns that are timeless with a twist. Named the ‘King of Frocks’ by the Saturday Telegraph, it is easy to see why so many celebrities love his designs which are structurally flawless and look effortless to wear.

Mylenne has worn Kyri’s dresses on several occasions and loves the luxurious fabrics that he uses. She often wears strapless or deep v necklines, which may give some idea as to what she might choose for her wedding day.

The question is who will Mylenne choose to have her wedding jewellery made by?

Bespoke Wedding Jewellery designer Carrie Yeo has examined Mylenne’s style and states, “Mylenne favours small and simple necklaces. A style such as our Astor flower necklace which would suit a v- neckline and add a touch of sparkle. If Mylenne chooses to wear pearls on her wedding day then a style such as our Audrey pearl and crystal necklace or our Vintage leaf necklace would be perfect, as the ivory tone would look luminous against her skin tone, and both styles are understated classics”.

Carrie Yeo continues, “If Mylenne chooses to wear her hair down then a tiara from our Bespoke Design service would complete the look. However if she chooses to wear her hair up as she quite often does, then our Audrey pearl hair comb would look stunning placed to the side of her head to add a touch of detail to her wedding day style”.

Whatever Mylenne chooses, we know she is going to make a beautiful bride!
